Founded in 2008, Yvonne’s Dance Academy has grown from a one-room studio at St. Benedict Preparatory School to a family of close to 200 dancers within the North Center community. Yvonne’s Dance Academy exists to educate and inspire children in a loving, safe, and nurturing manner. Our structured environment teaches developmentally appropriate skills while simultaneously encouraging creative expression. Our YDA staff uses dance as a tool to build  self-esteem and good character while cultivating an appreciation for the art that is dance.

YDA strives to teach our students that dance is a way to create, explore, and celebrate, regardless of age, level or dance experience. We believe that ballet builds a solid, technical training base, thus it is a required class within our Academy. Uniquely, we offer an exclusive B.A.D Boys — (Boys Athetic Dance) class to meet this ballet requirement for our male dancers. In addition, we offer a breadth of leveled specialty classes in styles of hip-hop; contemporary; tap; pre-pointe/ pointe; leaps, tricks and turns; and an Elite Team & High School only class for dancers looking for additional opportunities within YDA.

Yvonne’s Dance Academy’s existence and success would not be possible without the support of our dedicated families, some of which have been with us all ten years.
